Tandem Security

I sit on your lap
your my father you see
I speak through your hands
and you speak through me
as you tell me a tale I listen quite well
and I give you my input
but you see there's a catch
and it's not with a mitt
when I talk to you you can't talk to me
and when I look at you, you smile and be nice.

we'll become huge stars.
we'll go to the moon
and tell stories of humor
all in the same room

You'll be cast in my shadow
you'll need me to breathe
but I can't live with out you
so you'll have to succeed

then when the day's over
and you've had all your fun
you'll put me away
and you'll go on the run.

but when you know no one cares when they see you alone
you'll come back to that box that I now call a home.
