Shore bound

Pushed away the stone tablet.
Moved the branches,
snapped the leaves.
Set free the dove with an olive branch.

I see a steady ocean now.
The boat does not rock
With a lighter load
The frictionless glide toward a new home.
A new deserted island.
A new harbor.
New walls to build.

Marooned

Chugging bottled feeling.
80 proof.
Lost the evening to remorseful hoping.
That back end deal with new faith.
Deem it damnable.
An offensive glare.

I remember the summer.
Red eyed and renegade.
I recall the eager flames
I recall the drowning
The drinks
To humble beginnings.
 To losing sleep.

No more sheep.
I do not count.

Mountain creep

Joyous summit.
Reach into the distant sky.
Grab the soaring white clay.
Imagine the infinite, the unobtainable.
Form masks and fold dollars.

The climb; slow and tedious.
The decent: rebellious.
The atmosphere: suffocating

Split

His mind
A diatonic wasteland
At the back of the room;
The twin needles play the cautious muster of his dissonant cries.

Why must I :
Die?
Live?

Why can't I :
Laugh?
Cry?

Ambivalence
What a beautiful word.

Seashells

Wait until the clock strikes the witching hour.

Bottled feelings, thrown into the wild abyss.
 Full moon apathy.
Last will and testament.

Sit atop the rocky pier.
See the shell convex as the living ocean bleeds into your ears.

Another crash.
Another crash.

She wants control.

Fear every error.
Brilliantly vex admiration.
Dodge the friendly hand of poetry.
Wane from asylum
With checkered kisses.
A fidelity? Or frigidity?

Warm with anxiety.
Melt with bright affection.
without a kingdom.
without a price.
An affliction

Humilty a captain.
Vainity a king.
Wisher of welcomes please find a home.
For It's so very dreadful out here.

Flush

The cards are in my favor for once.
A fickle idea that springs from devastation. Persistent like a virus.
Esteemed.

I seek a wild card.
I know where they reside.
A deck of influence.
Streamlined coincidence.
Jokers are wild.

Call a spade a spade with a poker face.
Aces on high.
Revelations while drowning

God quest.

Vicious exaggerations flow violently from the maker's blasphemous tounge.
Seek asylum, we do from devilish deeds.
Break bread with lost maidens at sea.

Shake hands and heads while rivers mold serpents.
Their venom deep and treacherous.
Our souls equally so.
Follow the streaks of lightening.
Home is where titans fall.

Color forms.

Blue.
Oceans and Skies.
Humble beginnings.
Mirrors reflect.
Truth in memory.

Red.
Passionate laughter.
Delicate slaughter.
Hunger, jealously.
Front row seats at midnight.
Said the wrong thing.

Orange.
Night peeled from the sunset.
Fresh squeezed.
Staring at god with eyes shut.
Return with more kindle.

Green.
Before turning corrupt.
Unready.
Go.
New life in spring.
Same old story.

Boxed in,

Guided across the marble bridge; my lost love walks timidly to her castle.
Forgotten dreams seek refuge there.

Midnight illustrations.
Broken boxes.
Undone shackles.

My mind unchained.
Unchanged.
Awake once again.
Like many times before.
Nothing to see here.

TNT

Thousands of words.
They flicker for seconds before they vanish. They glow like vague reflections in a shallow tidepool. Soon to evaporate.
Destined to expire.
Those words of wanting.

A short fused romance.

Breathe

Breathe.
Breathe and close your eyes.
Breathe, close your eyes, and think.

That gentle heart beat is your own.
Focus.

That silence is your future.
That silence is your past.
Breathe.

'Til your thoughts become a burst of silence.

Nightlight

Sleep soundly.
Let your dreams dance after midnight.
Let the dreamer carry the torch.
For starlight begins to flicker and wane
And flashing street lights spell your name.

Never to be spoken.
Ever at the tip of the dreamer's tongue.
A twisted, grinning entanglement.
A simple song of yearning.

Be cautious of the wind.
It will consume you.

Horsemen

I am war.
For an eternal battle wages within me.
Id versus ego.
Man vs. Beast.
Swift strikes of human frailty
Mind against matter.

I am pestilence.
A virus, a cancer.
Words drill into the simple mind.
Sights infect the senses.
That eager manipulation.
That willingness to be downed by a sickening phrase.
"You cannot."

I am famine.
The hunger to know.
To take.
I hunger to have.
Have beyond need.
Beyond self.
Passion begets hunger.

I am death.
For I have quit.
Give way to nil.
Broken the bridge.
And sailed with charon.

Not a drop to drink.

Sea of sickening.
Lay waste to health.
River of mourning.
Break the banks of dispear.
Ocean of violence.
Drown out the screams,
Waves break the silence.
Tortured, tragic, souls plead for help as the sinking ships hum the ghost song.

Water
Bleeds from our immortal skin.
The dust will never settle.

Park on sunday.

Oblivion.
I chose oblivion.
Earth shattering, conscious.
clockwork in an erratic retrograde.
The tragic dissipation of cosmic fabric.

Movement slurred,
The distance; impossible.
Light never reaches. Dark skies.
Heat death in the somber afternoon.

The tragedy of parallels

Bright are her eyes
Which glimmer under streetlights.
Like stars around a new moon.
Like a cosmos that rolls infinitely within her.

An entire world behind those eyes..
Immensely different.
New.
One step.
One leap.

A universe so vast.
Just one.
So close.
So agonizingly far away.

The tragedy of parallels

Screech

Like concrete or cold hard steel,
Reality; harder than a diamond necklace.

-begin as a concept.
Beyond the scope of reason.
Within the realm of thought. -

--To be ancient.
weakened by the pain of memory.*--

To hold the world in your arms.*

*we saw stars.

Blood everywhere.

Eerie Storm.

Moonlight whispered through the clouds.
An eerie storm hints at an extravagant arrival. Rain falls at first like soft expectant laughter but as the night extends her reach the great flood begins.

A march to war.
The deafening drums persist through the witching hour. Hell hath broke through from the skies. The storm is here.
Run for cover.
